Why It Is Worth Doing Regularly
It is a health issue, not just a tidiness issue. Dog waste can carry roundworm, hookworm, giardia, and parvovirus. Some of those organisms survive in soil for months. If you have kids playing in that yard, or other dogs visiting, that matters.
It kills your lawn. Dog waste is high in nitrogen. Left sitting, it burns the grass and leaves dead patches, usually in the same few spots your dog prefers. Regular removal is the cheapest lawn care there is.
It draws flies and smells. Especially in a Connecticut August. A yard you cannot sit in is a yard you are not really using.
It runs off into the water. In a coastal county like ours, waste left in yards washes into storm drains and eventually into the Sound. It is a genuine source of bacterial contamination at local beaches.

Can I book poop pickup on its own?
No. Poop pickup is an add-on to an existing dog walking plan. It cannot be booked as a standalone service. If you are already on a dog walking plan, adding it is easy.
Why is it only an add-on?
Because our team is already at your home on a set schedule for walks. Adding the yard to a visit that is already happening is efficient and keeps the cost low. Sending someone out for a yard alone is a different business, and it is not the one we are in.
How does it work?
When your walker comes for a scheduled visit, they walk the yard, pick up any waste, bag it, and put it in your outdoor trash. You do not have to be home and you do not have to do anything.
Does it cover the whole yard or just what happens on the visit?
The yard. Your walker is not just cleaning up after the one walk, they are clearing what has accumulated since the last visit.
How do I add poop pickup to my plan?
Start with a dog walking membership or on-demand dog walking, then tell us you want poop pickup included. We build it into your schedule.
What happens to the waste?
It gets bagged and placed in your outdoor trash bin. Nothing is left in the yard, on the deck, or by the door.
What about winter and snow?
We do our best, but honesty matters here. Once waste is under snow or frozen into the ground, it cannot be removed without damaging your lawn. We get what we can reach and catch up when things thaw.
Will it kill my grass?
Dog waste left sitting will burn a lawn, because of the nitrogen concentration. Regular removal is one of the simplest things you can do to keep the grass alive, especially in the same few spots your dog favors.
Is there a health reason to keep the yard clean?
Yes. Dog waste can carry roundworm, hookworm, giardia, and parvovirus, and some of those can persist in soil for a long time. It is a real concern in a yard where kids play or where other dogs visit.
