Why Online Training Actually Works
People assume a trainer has to be in the room to be useful. In practice, most of what a trainer does is coach the human. Your dog already knows how to sit. The hard part is your timing, your reward placement, and the habits you have built without realizing it.
All of that shows up clearly on video. A trainer watching you work can tell you that you are marking two seconds late, that your leash hand is creeping up, or that you are repeating a cue five times before your dog responds. Those corrections are what change things.
There is also a real advantage to working in your own house. Your dog is already there. Nobody is nervous from a car ride or a strange building. And the behavior you are trying to fix, whether it is barking at the mail carrier or losing their mind at the front door, happens exactly where the problem lives.
What People Work On Most
These are the issues that come up over and over, and they all respond well to consistent daily practice.
Pulling on Leash
The single most common complaint. It is almost always a reinforcement problem, and it is fixable with better mechanics and consistency.
Coming When Called
A reliable recall is built, never assumed. It takes a clear cue, a reward worth coming back for, and never calling your dog to something they dislike.
Jumping on People
Your dog jumps because it works. Teaching a different way to greet, and getting every visitor to follow it, is the whole solution.
Door Manners
Bolting out the front door is a safety issue. A dog who waits at thresholds is calmer everywhere else too.
Barking and Reactivity
Barking at the window or at dogs on walks. We work on distance, timing, and changing how your dog feels about the trigger.
Puppy Basics
House training, crate comfort, chewing, nipping, and getting a young dog used to handling. The earlier you start the easier it all is.

It is designed for clients outside our service area who still want expert guidance for their dog.

Do I need to live near Fairfield County?
No. Virtual training works anywhere. If you are inside our service area, in-home private training may be a better fit.
Who created the training?
Our training is guided by Jason Hofmann, an ABC certified dog trainer.
Can training over video really work?
Yes, and for a lot of problems it works better than you would expect. Training is mostly about changing what the human does. A trainer watching you on video can see your timing, your leash handling, and your body language just fine.
What kind of problems can virtual training help with?
Everyday manners and communication issues respond well: pulling on leash, jumping on guests, not coming when called, counter surfing, door dashing, and general listening. Serious aggression cases need hands-on help from a trainer who can be in the room.
How long does it take to see a change?
That depends entirely on how often you practice. Dogs learn from repetition, not from a single lesson. Families who work at it for a few minutes a day usually notice a difference within a couple of weeks.
What do I need to get started?
A phone or laptop, a leash and collar or harness your dog already wears, some small soft treats, and a quiet space to work. Nothing special or expensive.
Is this positive reinforcement training?
Our approach is built on clear communication and rewarding the behavior you want. We do not use fear or intimidation to get results. Dogs who are afraid stop offering behavior, which makes training harder, not easier.
